Renewal Time Period (effective 1-1-12)
- Timely renewal is the responsibility of the license holder. The renewal time period begins 180 days prior to expiration and continues to the date of expiration. An expired license cannot be renewed.
- NOTE: If you begin the renewal process fewer than 90 days prior to the expiration date, you can still renew BUT your license to carry concealed will be invalid from the date of expiration until the renewed license is issued and you will not be able to carry concealed during that time. To avoid a lapse in licensing, the BCI recommends that you begin the process at the earliest opportunity.
