Extinguisher/Extinguishing Systems License

North Dakota does not require a state license for installation and maintenance of fire extinguishers, commercial hood extinguishing systems, or fire sprinkler systems. However, some localities have adopted codes more stringent than state law.  Therefore, individuals should contact the city or county in which the work will take place before commencing any work. In addition, before doing business in North Dakota, an individual/company must be registered with the Secretary of State.
